The purpose of Strategic Reading is to not only help students improve reading comprehension by teaching strategies to understand fiction and nonfiction texts but to hopefully foster a love for reading outside the classroom.

Daily Schedule:

1.) Daily Read Aloud/Mini Lesson

2.) Community Writing / Word Study 

3.) Zone Reading or Writing/One-to-One Reading Conferences 

4.) Share Out 

Expected Materials: 
3 subject notebook (will be kept in the classroom), planner, writing utensils, and reading material.

Reading at Home:
Students will be expected to read at home every night and keep track of their reading through weekly reading logs. In trimester. Reading logs will be due the first day of the week, every week.
